What is the KASON-PIT452CW?

A computer-controlled pendulum impact testing machine for Charpy testing of metallic materials. Maximum impact energy is 450 J at 5.24 m/s, with the pendulum pre-raised to 150°.

Which test standards does it cover?

ISO 148-1, ASTM E23, EN 10045-1, JIS Z 2242 and GOST 9454-78. Machine verification can be run to EN 10045-2 or ASTM E23, which suits both European and North American laboratories.

How repeatable is the measurement?

A one-piece cast frame and low-friction bearings hold energy absorbed without a specimen below 0.3%. A 3600-line photoelectric encoder reads angle to 0.1°, and energy resolution is 0.01 J.

How is operation and safety handled?

PC software raises, releases and recycles the pendulum and prints reports through an HPA4 printer. A fully closed guard with door interlock stops operation whenever it is opened.

Can the energy range be extended?

Yes. Exchangeable 150, 300, 450, 600 and 750 J pendulums are available, plus an optional cooling chamber for specimens down to -180 °C.
